Grasshoppers

Recently I attempted to photograph one of the many grasshoppers that have been infesting my habitat in the end of this summer. It is much easier said than done, but here are a few attempts.

Oil

A long time ago, before the Spiral Jetty, there was some sort of oil drilling operation going on at Rozelle Point. As there was not much thought given to taking care of the environment at the time you can still see all the remains and junk out there. It's all part of the mystique of the place to me. I am intrigued by the history you can see lying all around the Great Salt Lake. It serves as a reminder that nothing we do on this Earth is truly permanant, but the scars can take a very long time to heal. So although it all makes for some interesting pictures, it also saddens me to see stuff like this out there in what might have been a beautiful and pristine landscape.
