Moab Fever

Every year around this time I tend to get my own version of Spring Fever in which I start having a powerful urge to go to Moab. I start thinking about it constantly, and having bad flashbacks. The place is calling me. So before I go to sleep this morning I have decided to post some old photos I just rediscovered. It's always nice to find out that you took some cool shots that you forgot about.

That first shot was taken above the Devil's Garden as night was falling, and I was perilously close to being lost. Thes next one was a self-assignment during a Southern Utah Photography Workshop, in Arches National Park, for the SLCC a few years ago. Really I just wanted to go on a hike all by myself to Dark Angel, and this North Fork product shot gave me a good excuse, so I volunteered to do it.

This next Shoe shot was also on the same trip to Arches. I was using some ridiculously expensive camera that I was not familiar with, courtesy of Mamiya, and so I botched the focus on it. My bad. Because of that, I never used this photo. Nevertheless, if I overlook my own humiliation at the hands of the Mamiya 7 I actually like this shot, especially because it is natural light with only a reflector disc filling in the shadows a bit.

I intend to make some more photos of Southern Utah in April. If only I can live that long, alas.
