But then, in the process of trying to figure out exactly what was going on with my tin-foil reflectors I discovered that if I turned off my flash and used a really long shutter speed, the spotlight on the side of Craig's house (in conjunction with my tin-foil panels) was creating this weird wrap-around, side-lighting effect that was extremely crude, but somehow was working for me, and this subject matter, more appropriately. They have a quality like photos you might find in a dusty box in your grandfathers garage. I need to try and re-create this lighting again sometime in a more controlled manner.
